For a novel shelving solution, check out the London Transport Museum's stock of 1960's Luggage Racks salvaged from decomissioned Metropolitan Line trains.

A limited number of racks will be available for purchase by those who fancy owning a bit of London's transport heritage. The racks come in three different sizes and have been restored and adapted for home use. They are made of aluminium so super lightweight but also very strong. Having borne commuters luggage for over fifty years they are reliably sturdy and would make a great feature in just about any room.

Prices range from £150 for the smallest racks up to £250 for the largest size at just over 1 metre long.

You can check them out in detail online at the London Transport Museum shop and register your interest to purchase.
