The Baker Sofa by Finn Juhl is so named because he originally designed it for Baker Furniture Inc in 1951.
The distinctive shape was inspired by the sculptural forms of modern free art. The sofa has an upholstered body divided in two, resting upon a wooden frame. It is upholstered in wool fabric in either one colour or two, with the frame made from walnut or teak. It should come as no surprise that such a piece of design comes with a similarly impressive price tag – it currently costs just over £9,300.
