The latest collection from Kate Spade is inspired by the designs of Florence Broadhurst.
Florence Broadhurst is best known in design circles for her bold wallpaper designs in the 1950s to the 1970s in Australia, but also has an interesting back story, starting her career as a singer. Kate Spade have taken her designs and applied them across their collection, from dresses to accessories.
Taken from the collection is this vintage-style suitcase, decorated in Broadhurst's Japanese Floral design (recently seen on the cover of one of the Virago Modern Classics series). The case is intended as a decorative and – with gold hardware and a woven jacquard lining - a luxury item.
That luxury is reflected in the price: this case costs $828 which works out at around £525.
