Having mentioned the Zanotta Mezzadro Stool earlier in the week when it featured in the Classic Chair A to Z Artwork, it occurred to me that we haven’t featured the stool itself here.
Designed in 1957 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, it entered into Zanotta’s production in 1970. Two years later, it became part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Its distinctive seat shape is modelled on a tractor seat, attached to a chrome-plated steel spring stem with a beech footrest. The seat is available in aluminium or a choice of colours.
It costs £582 from Chaplins.
