It was only last year that Ernest Race's Antelope chair got a re-issue. There's now the opportunity to snap it up with a yellow seat thanks to the V&A – the original colour selected by Race for the chair for its use on the terrace in the Festival of Britain.
The re-issue is part of the V&A's product range for their forthcoming British Design 1948-2012 exhibition, and the chair dates to the early part of that date range and the 1951 Festival of Britain. The yellow of the plywood seat perfectly captures the optimism of the festival, and still looks as striking today.
It's slightly cheaper than the previous re-issue too: this version costs £450.
