When is a Dansette not a Dansette? When it's a Tonesta Oxford portable record player. Confused? Read on…
Dansette made record players for Tonesta in the 1960s, which means you get the Dansette player, but not the Dansette badge. That should mean a smaller price tag at auction. or at least, that's what we would guess.
This a a fully serviced player, looking very smart too in what's described as 'lovely original' condition, with only 'signs of slight wear' to the dark green and off white casing. But overall, it 'looks fantastic'.
As for the player itself, it has a teak effect speaker cover, the original volume and tone knobs, a valve amp within, plus a four-speed BSR auto-changing deck. All of the parts and mechanisms serviced, oiled and adjusted, with ageing parts replaced with new.
Fancy it? The price is £36 right now.
