Designed this year, Matthew Hilton’s McQueen Bedside Chest nonetheless has a hint of midcentury style to it. Some of that may be the name, which I like to think as referring to the actor Steve (although I suppose it could a reference to the designer Alexander).
It is part of a range designed for De La Espada and is made from a sophisticated combination of solid wood and cast iron. For the wood, you have a choice of oak or walnut which plays up the retro look. There are also five other larger sizes of chest available in the McQueen range with prices going to over £4,700. The bedside chest seems almost a bargain in comparison at £1,734.
