With the Olympics just weeks away, Barnaby Barford's Shops 'n' Houses offers an alternative take on the east end of London.
The set contains five miniature bone china building which have been transfer-printed with, on one side, images of houses from the east end and, on the other, shops from the area. While the reason behind the shops are more or less self-explanatory, like the L Manze classic pie and mash shop for instance, the houses have been selected for their famous ex-inhabitants: everyone from Marc Bolan to Marie Lloyd, 'Queen of the Music Hall'.
The houses have been commissioned as part of the same project as the Ed Carpenter East End badges we featured last week, aiming to provide a range of alternative souvenirs.
The Shops 'n' Houses set costs £75.
