If the price of a reconditioned vintage Dansette is a bit much of you simply prefer new to secondhand, the Crosley Collegiate portable record player could be for you.
It's a reworking of the classic 'suitcase' record player as well as being a little smaller than the vintage players (15 x 15 x10 inches when shut). Obviously it doesn't have a valve amplifier within either, but it makes up for that in other ways.
The Collegiate plays your vinyl (7, 10 and 12-inch sizes) and has an aluminium grill speaker and leather handle, along with the bonus of USB connectivity and software, allowing you to transfer your old vinyl to digital format.
