The big Photokina event is currently running and it seems like vintage and retro is very much 'in' when it comes to new cameras. We spotted a leak of the Fujifilm X-E1 a couple of weeks back and now, from the same company, comes this stunning Fujifilm XF1.
It's an interesting design, with a distinctly midcentury look via the metal and leatherette, but it's also interesting as a camera too, hovering somewhere between the compact camera and the more advanced pro models.
Features include a 3-inch LCD monitor with tempered glass, a newly-developed f/1.8 Fujinon lens with a manual 4x optical zoom, a 12-megapixel EXR-CMOS sensor and EXR processor, along with a start-up time of just 0.55 seconds, should need to take a snap quickly. There's also optical image stabilisation, HD movie recording, a burst-mode and a variety of filters for quirky and retro shots.
In the US, this will sell for $500 in a choice of three colours. No UK pricing as yet, but it should be around in time for Christmas.
