We have encountered Impossible Project before, with its efforts to keep the classic Polaroid camera in production. Now it has gone a step further, launching a Kickstarter fund to create the Impossible Instant Lab.
Kickstarter is a way to get public funding for a project, usually by way of offering incentives for bigger donations, but ultimately being a way of getting funding for something interesting. Which the Impossible Instant Lab certainly is.
The finished product will instantly transform your digital iPhone images unto 'real' photos, just like an old school Polaroid. Select an image from your app, place your iPhone in the cradle, slide the shutter and your phone add-on prints it.
The design is in conjunction with Professor Achim Heine, the industrial designer who designed the Leica Digilux 1, so it has some weight behind it. All it is short of now is the money to finish development. That's not far off if you want to contribute – see the link below. if you do sign up, you'll get the chance to buy a finished item, priced from $149. See the video to find out more.
