Not dissimilar to the coat worn by Benedict Cumberbatch in the TV series, which is presumably why the above is called the Sherlock Shawl Coat by John Lewis & Co.
Whether you are a fan of the show or not, there's still much to admire with this retro-styled coat and its military influence. Talking of military, the fabric for this coat is made by Abraham Moon, a Leeds-based mill that produced military coats during the World Wars. Indeed, the blue wool fabric was actually used by the Airforce.
The double breasted coat also has a chambray lining, real Corozo nut buttons, deep back vents and adjustable cuffs. The two colour options are pictured above and both sell for £350.
