We are big fans of the midcentury objects and designs of Hans Bolling, having featured the likes of Oscar the Dog and his wooden ducks in the past. Now there's a new reissue on the block – The Mermaid.
It dates back to 1954 and is reissued as part of the Architect Made series, with a design said to be inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid fairy tale, but with a finish very much a Bolling original. It also has moving arms and a tail for added novelty value.
Each one is handmade in oak and maplewood, sized around 16.5cm tall and 13.5cm long. If you want one, The Mermaid sells for £129.
