From an era when audio systems were also furniture comes the Grundig KS742U Stereogram.
It's a substantial thing too, but one with a good look – a look that would fit very well into a midcentury-inspired room or home. According to the seller, it dates to around 1968, complete with vinyl storage and six built-in speakers, with the option to add two external speaker if six isn't enough. There's also an FM MW SW stereo radio and an automatic 36 turntable (Philips GC036).
It's down as being in excellent condition, still working 'perfectly' and sold with some new needles, manual and a 45 adaptor.
The price of £245 still sounds a bit high, but the seller will take an offer.
