Fornasetti's Multiplette cycling frieze, produced for Cole & Son, harks back to the glory days of Italian cycling in the early twentieth-century.
Less surreal than Fornasetti's usual pieces, cycling is apparently a shared passion of Piero and Barnaba, his son who now runs the company. The frieze shows a repeat motif of a bike with multiple riders, each dressed in an identical old school-styled cycling jersey and cap. The nostalgic feel is enhanced by the red and blue colour scheme (although a multi-coloured version is also available).
Unfortunately, as you might expect, the frieze is pricey. £190 gets you a 52cm high by 7.5m long length of frieze.
