Banana Republic has recently launched its third collaboration with Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant.
The collection includes a range for men and one for women – although I think the women's collection is the more interesting of the two. The women's collection includes shirt dresses, shift dresses, shell tops, gingham cropped trousers and accessories. Don Draper's young wife Meagan seems to be the inspiration for most of the pieces with nods to Betty and Peggy's styles in there too – although the advertising images remind me more of 90s band Dee-Lite.
On the menswear side, there are polo shirts, slim fit shirts, cotton pants, sports jackets and some natty cardigans – very much Don's weekend attire rather than his sharp work suits – more's the pity.
