If you want an updated Dansette, you can pick up this stunner for just over £200. If you want to do the work yourself (or find someone to do it), this lot of two Dansette and two Fidelity vintage record players on eBay might be more suitable.
Available for a fraction of the cost of the 'finished' model, you get four vintage players for your money, all sold as renovation projects. Saying that, a couple of these are down as playing, but they do need checking over and one is probably more for 'spares' than or use.
But they might well be a shrewd investment. Just look at the prices of reconditioned players on eBay to get an idea of just how high the prices for upgraded players go.
