Far removed from the simplicity of the midcentury and Scandinavian designs that tend to dominate these pages is the pure decadency of the Lui 5/A Armchair, which could add a touch of grandeur to someone's conservatory this summer.
Designed by Philippe Bestenheider for Fratelli Boffi, the chair is inspired by early 20th century techniques and designs. It is made up of pentagon shapes, composed of double cane. It is available with a choice of finishes and as ever, I'm drawn to the walnut option. There are no prices given for the Lui 5/A, but it is a bespoke piece, expect to pay a considerable amount.
