The table version was one of the first products we featured on Retro To Go and is widely available online. But the 1960s Elio Martinelli-designed Serpente floor lamp for Martinelle Luce is a much tougher find.
I'm pretty sure this space age classic hasn't been reissued and for good reason. It's a stunning design, but you suspect it has quite niche appeal in the modern era. It needs the right surroundings to make the most of it.
But on the reverse, it means it is quite a sought after item for its rarity too, with this particular one showing just 'a few' traces of use and sold with the original maker's mark. Working, of course.
The downside, as you might have guessed, is the price. £941.74 on a 'Buy It Now' to be precise.
