We have mentioned before that searching on eBay for 'portable record player' rather tan 'Dansette' pulls up far more affordable options if you want to spin some vintage vinyl. This 1950s Ekco portable record player is just one of them.
Said to date from late '50s, possible the early '60s (as they were still being made then), the player offers valve-based audio and is said to be in 'really very good shape' with 'no noteworthy marks whatsoever', although there is 'very minor tarnishing to hinges' as you would expect from a player in original condition.
The Collaro 4 deck plays at four speeds, a new cartridge is in there, as is a new stylus. It all functions as it should and is currently up for £29, which is great value.
