Inga-Lill Aker is originally from Norway and I think the Scandinavian design aesthetic shines through the shades the designer makes under the name of Random Lights, such as the Retro Pendant.
Aker's work combines traditional wood craft with minimal, organic and functional shapes. The pendant is designed so that the light shines through the wood veneer, creating different effects depending on the wood used. The retro pendant, which is one of the more simple designs, is available in a choice of a warm cherry wood or a cooler ash. Both cost £80.
