There's been masses of publicity – and products – around the Underground's 150th anniversary – we featured Horace Taylor's Brightest London reissue earlier in the week. But, perhaps the best tie-in yet is Fired Earth's London Underground collection based on some of the Tube's best tilework.
They've issued reproductions of some of the Underground's most distinctive designs, going all the way back to the 1880s. The stand-out designs, however, have to be some of the signage. From 'Mind the Gap' to 'To the Zoo', you can reproduce some of the Tube's most famous phrases in your own home. There's an example of the Mind the Gap design pictured below.
The range also includes reproductions of some of Harold Stabler's 1939 tile designs, featuring everywhere from Crystal Palace to St Paul's Cathedral as well as the imposing London Transport HQ of 55 Broadway.
Prices start at £4.43 for some of the plain tiles but go up to £394.99 for an impressive 'Way Out' sign.
