We featured the original Standard Chair some time back, but we haven't featured the updated (and cheaper) version, the Vitra Standard SP Chair by Jean Prouve.
The original is a modernist classic, dating back to 1934, but still looking as contemporary as anything on the market. That first edition was made of metal and wood, but the updated SP replaces thew traditional bent timber, the seat and backrest with a robust plastic, throwing in a new set of colours.
Cheaper price too, as we mentioned. This one is £355.
