Graham and Green's Bamboo side table offers an ultra glam take on the 1940s and 50s trend for Tiki-inspired decor.
During the 40s and 50s increased foreign travel sparked a huge craze in decor inspired by far flung destinations. Bamboo was just one of the materials used in these kitsch creations.
This table definitely takes its cue from the more stylish end of the trend, with gold bamboo-shaped rods used to form the body of the table alongside a mirrored top. The rods are of various lengths, as if to suggest this might be an older piece which has become slightly worn over the years. But don't be fooled – despite the fact bamboo is increasingly fashionable for product design again, this table is actually made from aluminium.
