It's possibly the most famous theme park ride ever. Now some of the original 1960s designs for Disney's It's A Small World have been used for a new kids range.
The ride – featuring a boat ride past animated characters representing children from all over the planet, and with the humble aim of promoting world peace – was originally built for the 1964 New York World Fair before being reproduced in all the Disney theme parks. Mary Blair was the designer responsible for the look of the ride and Whitbread Wilkinson have gone into the original archives to build a collection in spirit of her designs.
The cute kids, from the French boy in his Breton top to the Swedish girl in her traditional folk costume, have been used on a variety of products, including the writing set pictured, as well as wall decals, placemats and pencil tubes in the shape of individual characters, alongside a colouring book.
Prices start at £4 for some of the placemats.
