We see a lot of Dansettes up for sale that have been massively reconditioned, sometimes to the point of them losing some of their original character. This 1960s Dansette Tempo portable record player seems to have retained its originality – and is a tad cheaper than the reconditioned players.
This Tempo is a working model in original condition. That condition is described as 'nice', but with 'some age-related blemishes', such as 'brown spotting' to the top of the green casing, a 'couple of tiny brown marks' to the white surfaces of the actual deck and arm, while the edges of the brass clasps to the handle are 'tarnished', and the cream surfaces to the underside of the lid and front are 'discoloured'. It is wear you would expect from a player pushing 50 years old.
But saying that, the seller points out that 'everything works as it should', with the sound being 'very good' and both dials 'work fine.'
If that appeals, check out the close-up shots on the listing. If it still appeals, the price right now is £65.
