I'm just guessing here, but I suspect this 1970s vintage George Best Boutique sweater is one of the few surviving items from the store, owned by the iconic footballer.
The store opened in the late '60s, closing its doors in the early 1970s (but not before it was featured in the opening scenes of the sitcom spin-off The Lovers movie). We think this is a '70s design, described as a 'deep v-neck jumper' in black and red, with mock turtle insert. It also has a ribbed hem, fold back ribbed cuffs and cable knit details on the front.
The material is described as 'Sayelle', a man-made material we haven't encountered before and the George Best label is in the collar. Condition sounds good, with just light bobbling reported and the size is down as a 40.
A few bids already as you might expect, with the price right now at £38.01.
