We have seen some stylish sofas this year, but we think this Sheila Bownas archive x Parlour 1950s-style Edwin sofa might just be top of the pile.
It's a recreation of a midcentury look, specifically the versatile daybeds of the 1950s. Each one is handcrafted in the north east of England, pairing a rich solid walnut frame with a range of printed linens from the Bownas library, which are mixed subtly with plain textured weaves. Great for sitting, ideal for quick nap too or just for impressing the neighbours.
Each one is made to order (so expect a lead-time of four to six weeks), with the design available in three colourways – steel blue, concrete grey and olive yellow.
The sofa will be available online at www.sheilabownas.com from Monday 11th November. Price still to be confirmed.
