It is a seat we are familiar with, but the limited edition 50th anniversary CH07 Shell Chair by Hans J. Wegner is something special.
Also known as the 'smiling chair', this one here is also titled the Jubilee Edition in account of those 50 years of service. It deserves all those titles and more. This is a timeless classic, still able to turn heads decades after its first appearance.
The new version, available in very limited numbers, goes back to the original design with a seat and back made of oil-treated teak, with upholstery using rare and exclusive red Niger goat hide.
That limited number is just 150 worldwide, so a real collector's piece. The downside is perhaps the £3,384 price tag. We can dream.
