The power of crowd funding is once again evident with the launch of these amazing Cruiser bikes by Local Motors.
The motorised bikes, based on designs from the turn of the 20th century, were designed by Romania-based Ianis Vasilatos, whose work was picked out as part of a design challenge. Those designs were taken on by a crowd funding project and with that target met, they are due to go into full production.
Take your pick from an electric model with a range of around 40 miles or a petrol model that uses a 49cc Honda four-stroke engine, with a top speed of 34mph. Some lovely details too, including that Brooks leather saddle (and other leather accents), along with size options, so you can get a bike that's right for you.
Initial pricing starts at $3,800 (which is around £2.300) and more details are available at the Cruiser website.
