Once upon a time, it was all about the fridges. But the Smeg portfolio has increased rapidly over the last few years, with smaller appliances now being introduced, including the Smeg 1950s-style toaster and kettle range.
There's no denying these are Smeg products, with the company's vintage-style logo adorning the front of each one. The new designs have been created by Smeg in conjunction with Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti, with the toasters offered in two sizes and a wide range of colours, with the with the usual levels of browning and different functions for different bread products.
Likewise, the kettles are also offered in a similar colour range, with variable temperature models also available (ideal if you want water for a green tea, for example).
The designs should mean these will fly off the shelves when they arrive, although we've yet to find any shelf containing them. They are down as coming 'soon' at the Smeg site, with John Lewis usually the place to find the full range.
