Another great 50s piece gets a dusted off and reissued for a new audience. This time it's the Birdy lamps from Northern Lighting.
They are the work of Norwegian designer Birger Dahl, who was also responsible for the 1950s Dokka pendant lamps we featured a little while back. They didn't have quite such a catchy name back then – the table lamp above was known as the 's-30016' for example.
But the new 'Birdy' name suits their shape and their handsome features look just as good now. The lamp is available as a floor lamp and a wall-mounted lamp, as well as the desk lamp, each made from a mixture of steel and aluminium and in a choice of black or off-white finish.
£190 will get you the wall lamp, while the table lamp is £217 and the floor lamp is £278.
