I think the term 'electric car' usually conjures up images of 'boxy' cars built more for economy than style. That's certainly not the case with the stunning Carice Mk1, which has just gone on sale.
The two-seater sports car takes inspiration from vintage Porsche models of the 1950s, most notably the 550 Spyder, But while the look is all about nostalgia (from the outer curves to that stunning dashboard), the inner workings are all about the present – and even the future.
The lightweight car (just 350kg) is available as a 20hp or 55hp model, with presumably enough power to et you around town between charges. If you need to go further, a 'gasoline range extender' is also available to keep the car's battery pack charged. Either way, it's going to be more economical than your average sports car.
Only 10 are being made initially, but more will roll off the production line if demand is there, with a waiting time of around three months to build the car. The price is 26,620 Euros.
