What does 99p get you these days? Well, it gets you the opening bid on this 1970s Lotus Esprit S2 car. But that's only part of the story.
Obviously the Lotus Esprit is most famous for going underwater in the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me and looking at this car, you might think part of it had been underwater.
That's because this 1979 model has been stored away for years in a barn. It hasn't been driven since 1991 (see tax disc) and has 25,000 miles on the clock (although it's hard to verify if that's the case).
That obviously means some work is needed to recommission the car, both in terms of the inner workings and the interior, which does look to have suffered during storage.
A stunning car nonetheless and with the opening bid of just 99p, a potential bargain too. Saying that, we don't know what the reserve is to say for sure if this can go cheap. See the listing for more details and photos.
