You can buy a piece inspired by the era or you can go out and buy one from the era with bags more character. Something like this 1950s Alfred Cox walnut sideboard.
British made, it's an Alfred Cox for Handcraft design that has been professionally restored and as such, is in 'fine vintage condition'. The cabinet has a central trio of dovetailed drawers with the top drawer having a baize lined and removable sliding cutlery section drawer. To each side of those is a large storage cupboard, with a full width shelf in the left section and a large open storage section to the right.
All of that sits on that sturdy frame with the angled legs, with detailing pretty much confined to the elongated handles.
