Swedish Style: Marianne Westman Jul design from Almedahls

Almedahls have been gradually reissuing Marianne Westman's mid-century textile designs over the last few years. The latest is Jul, perfect if you are starting to think vaguely festively. 


There's not much information available about when Jul was originally designed, but it oozes classic Scandi style. And there's a clue to its inspiration in its name: Jul is the name for the traditional Swedish Christmas holiday.

So we're very much on festive turf here (sorry, I do realise it's only October), only a Swedish version of it, from the booze to the candles, as well as the mischevious munching pigs, and the fish platter that's reminiscent of Westman's classic Picknick pattern. 

It's currently available on the linen and cotton mix tea towel pictured above, as well as on a cutting board. The tray shown below, meanwhile, is perfect for serving up some winter glögg. 

The tea towel is priced at £11 while the tray is £24.
