Remember those reissued midcentury Ikea designs we told you about a while back? Well, it looks like they are finally making their way into UK stores. Including the Ekenaset armchair.
I’m so glad they are bringing these retro designs into stores. After all, Ikea has such a long heritage and it must have an archive to match.Well, we are finally getting a look at it. Or at least, some of it.
When we originally wrote about the reissues, this was actually down as a sofa. No sign of that just yet, but an armchair version is available to buy right now – and at a good price point too. The chair is a wonderful piece of 1950s Scandinavian design, with a solid birch frame matched up with some period-style upholstery for something that looks every bit a pricey design classic.
But this is Ikea, so the prices are Ikea level. The price for this rather lovely retro seat is £150.
