It is a vintage piece, but this 1960s Pye stereo system and cabinet has a midcentury look that’s incredibly popular right now.
According to the seller, the unit was bought by his grandfather back in 1963 and comes with the original paperwork and manuals – see images of that in the listing. It is also still working, with the automatic mode functioning correctly and the Garrard deck playing through the stereo speakers and via the valve amplifier.
The one note of caution is ‘quite a lot of static’ when the knobs are turned. You might want to get it serviced with that in mind, with plenty of people out there able to do that.
The cabinet is described as being in ‘excellent condition’ apart from a scratch which is shown in the photographs on the listing. The left rear leg also needs tightening.
Overall, that doesn’t seem to detract from the look of this, but do check yourself before bidding. £59.99 is the price right now.
