We do love a crowdfunded project (and have invested now and again in them). We might well invest in the I Ready O too.
The idea is simple, to turn your iPhone into a vintage radio. Specifically a radio from the mid-20th century, not unlike a vintage Dieter Rams design for Braun. You can use it horizontally and vertically, with that handle also doubling up as a stand if you want it on an incline.
As for the ‘radio’ part, well you control that with the external buttons on the casing and the touchscreen, accessing the many apps already out there for music. Oh yes, there’s one other thing to consider too – this is designed for older iPhones. Why? Well, the idea is to give life to your device once you upgrade – so iPhone 4 through to IPhone 5S in this case.
Great idea in terms of design and recycling. If that appeals, you can pledge $85 (£54) and get yourself at the front of the queue to secure one when the project is fully financed. Lots more detail and a video on the Kickstarter page itself.
