Reissues are well above £700, so this restored 1950s Ernest Race rocking armchair might be a shrewd purchase.
According to the seller, this British midcentury gem has been fully restored, with a new seat, backrest and bespoke seat pads, as well as reclaimed iroko teak armrests on a shot blasted and powder coated original rocking frame. The back rest cushion is only fixed by velcro, so you can always remove it if the look doesn’t appeal.
The fabric used is ‘vintage new old stock classic 1960s triangle abstract fabric’, condition is described as excellent and the price right now is £24.01.
