After Style Me Vintage Home, here's another title in the ever-popular book series: Style Me Vintage 1940s by Liz Tregenza.
Illustrated with colourful new inspirational photography alongside vintage snaps, the book is a great introduction to the forties, whether you are interested in the Second World War, or the impact of Dior's New Look towards the end of the decade. There's a survey of fashion across Europe and the US and, as with other books in the series, there are practical hair and make-up tutorials as well.
For those who are more interested in collecting pieces from the decade, there are very helpful lists of key brands. Tregenza was also one of the authors of the Style Me Vintage Accessories book and there are plenty of examples of great accessory makers to investigate in the book too.
Add to that a helpful directory of shops selling both original vintage and repro brands, and you'll got a very useful little volume available for a great price.
It's currently priced at £10.49 on Amazon
