For some tableware that wouldn't look out of place in the cooler kind of 1950s home, check out the Esmeralda dining range from Habitat.
The Esmeralda is a mix and match range of plates and bowls and – if we were being fussy – we'd tend to stick to the matching side of thing. Not that the mix of patterns and colours in the range don't look good together, but it's really the 'Black Leaf' pattern that's got real retro appeal. The sketch-like motif has been applied as a circle on a dinner plate and pasta bowl, and used all over the side plate and mug.
Whatever piece you go for, they are all made from hardwearing porcelain so should survive a good few good meals.
The pieces are priced between £5 and £6.
