Normally it's original mid-century pieces that get a contemporary makeover, as in the recent Tamasyn Gambell x Forest collaboration, to give one example of many. However, in the case of the extremely attractive Cebl collection by Hitch Mylius and Eleanor Pritchard it's more the case of the opposite!
Hitch Mylius is a British seating company that has been around since the 1970s. However, this Cebl collection is based on their hm58, designed by Matthias Demacker in 2009. The metal-framed chairs have been teamed with upholstery by Eleanor Pritchard. Pritchard is another contemporary designer but her woven fabrics have a definite mid-century feel. The designs that have been used here, 'Aerial', have a suitable modern inspiration of sound waves and radio transmission.
To accompany the fabrics, the three pieces have been given three different coloured powder finishes: a zingy combination that's a contemporary take on the mid-century look.
Prices start at £596 for the tall stool, as shown below, while the chair is £600 and the arm chair £754.
