I don’t really know if the word ‘remasterized’ actually exists (I’d guess not), but it is the word used to describe the new Lekki vintage watch collection.
Lekki is a name we have encountered in the past. You might recall its reworking of old mobile phones as well as old Game Boy handhelds. Now it is the turn of the humble wristwatch.
It is pitched as a ‘back to basics’, going against the trend for connected watches and offering something that simple looks good and tells the time. The company uses original watches from the 1950s to the 1970s (Wostok, Raketa and Sekonda for example), checks them over, then customises them with a NATO bracelet in one of five different styles.
It means each one is unique, vintage, but also a functioning, modern-day timepiece. Prices stat at €80 and shipping is worldwide.
