Ok, it’s not exactly ‘cold drink’ weather in the UK. But it will be eventually (and it is elsewhere), which is why we are flagging up this wonderful 1960s Volkswagen Panel Van drinks cooler at Hammacher Schlemmer.
It’s a substantial thing, coming in at over 3ft in length, with a design reproducing the Samba (or T1) version of the classic VW van from the 1950s and ‘60s, right down to the overhanging hat at the front of the bus and the eight panoramic windows.
Of course it looks great, but if you want a cold drink, it works on that level too. It holds up to 24 bottles and ice, with a long handle allowing you to steer the VW\s rubber wheels just where you want it.
You can pre-order now, but note that this party on wheels doesn’t come cheap. $499.95 is the price, which is around £322.
