We actually thought this was a vintage design, but the Ricatech RT80 record player is very much a new piece.
However, it does use a design concept that was very popular in the 1970s. Essentially it’s the ‘suitcase’ format, with the player and speakers able to pack down into a piece of wooden luggage with leatherette finish, complete with strap. Pretty stylish when it does that too. Just find a mains plug and away you go.
As for functionality, of course it can play your vinyl but as a modern player, it also has wires audio sources for MP3 players, CD players and smartphones via line input. There is also a line output for transmitting a signal to amplifiers, mixers, and speakers too, as well as 1 x USB port and 1 x SD memory card slot too.
A great option if you don’t want to take the risk of a vintage piece. It’s available from Hifi Tower via its eBay store, selling for a discounted £144.90.
