Punk
I have fond memories of this book accompanying my on a daily commute some years back. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure, England’s Dreaming by Jon Savage has been updated and reissued as a Faber Modern Classic.

This is updated compared to the original 1991 version. The book did get a further update in 2001, although we aren’t sure if this is an additional update beyond the all-new front cover (as we didn’t buy version two).

Not that it matters if you are buying for the first time. This is the definitive account of the punk rock phenomenon, the Sex Pistols and the era that produced them. When we tell you it comes in at 656 pages, you will get an idea of just how in depth things get.

The update adds in a new foreword by Johnny Marr, an account of the Sex Pistols 1996 reunion and what is described as a ‘comprehensively updated’ discography. If you are an old punk or just someone interested in the music of that era, this really is a must-read.

The latest version lands on 4th February but is available to pre-order now, selling for £12.99.
