The deck itself is a fairly standard and not very retro Rega RP1. But it’s the work of artist Pete McKee that makes this Rega Club record turntable so very desirable.
Pete McKee is a name that has been seen regularly on this site over the years, not least because we love the work of the Sheffield-Based artist. Hopefully his work here shows why.
McKee has redesigned the RP1, adding in his own ‘Rega Club’ design, which is a tribute to the sweaty beat and R&B clubs of the 1960s, the haunt of mods and hipsters back in that particular day. The artwork covers the base of the turntable to great effect.
If you love it, you might want to plan ahead to get it. This is a limited edition (just 500) produced for Record Store Day and as such, is only available from selected participating retailers on Saturday 16th April.
It is likely to mean queuing for some time to get one. When you get to the front of the queue, you will need around £250 to secure one.
