It started off as a quest to find a specific design. In the end it turned into several finds, which I’ve managed to edit down into five of the best vintage Adidas bags on eBay right now.
So in no particular order…
1970s Adidas Peter Black sports holdall (pictured above)
We will kick off with a classic. This one was made under licence from Adidas by Peter Black back in the 1970s and has apparently been stored since 1979. Near mint condition and definitely an investment, even at £75 on the Buy It Now.

1970s French Adidas holdall
Yes, the postage is more, but you get better value off European sellers for these kind of bags. This one is out of France, dated to the early 1970s and with a very distinctive vintage logo. A ‘small slit; is the only damage, otherwise this is really cool. £39.50 on a ‘Buy It Now’.

1960s Adidas bag
Not exactly sure about the era, but this is definitely old. The seller believes it is early 1960s, having been in a 1962 catalogue, but that’s just how word. Either way, this is a rare gem, which needs a little work, but otherwise in ‘good condition’. It is up for £75 or best offer.

Limited edition Adidas Erich Deuser bag / suitcase
A Google search suggests that Erich Deuser was some kind of trainer / physio and a big deal on Germany, Hence why he had his own bag. We can only assume this is very rare, both in terms of design and branding, That’s probably why it is up for £118.69 on a ‘Buy It Now’.

1980s Adidas holdall
Finally, something less rare but to people of an age, a very nostalgic design.
This is the bag that covered school playgrounds in the 1980s – large solid, dependable. Most were destroyed through use, but this one is in ‘mint condition’ and available on eBay. You will need £85 (or best offer) to get it, which is probably 10 times what your mum and dad paid.
