We’re still getting over missing out on the Brian Wilson dolls some years back. Thankfully there is plenty of ‘Brian’ heading out way to ease the pain in the form of The Beach Boys Pet Sounds 50th anniversary reissues.
If you are a fan of the iconic / groundbreaking / influential 1966 album or if you’ve simply never got round to buying it, you’ll find June is your birthday and Christmas rolled into one.
First up, you can get a five CD/Blu-ray Audio collectors edition presented in a hardbound book with hthe remastered original album in stereo and mono, plus hi res stereo, mono, instrumental and 5.1 surround mixes, session outtakes, alternate mixes and previously unreleased live recordings. That’s pretty much everything you’ll need audio-wise.
If you want a little less, you can also get a two CD deluxe edition, which pairs the remastered album in stereo and mono with highlights from the collectors edition additional tracks.
Finally, if you love vinyl, you have not been forgotten. The original album is available as a remastered 180-gram LP edition of the album in stereo or mono, complete with ‘faithfully replicated’ original artwork.
Every home should have at least one of those. If you want to invest, the big box is £55.99, the double CD set is £9.99 and the vinyl retails for £18.99. All and on 10th June 2016 and all can be pre-ordered now. More details below.
